As our time in McCallum’s PHP is coming to an end, we have worked to establish an outpatient team. We met with a dietician this week that came highly recommended. My daughter wanted me to stay in the session the entire time. She wants to exercise. The dietician asked how she was doing with her meal plan. Really good. Well once you’re doing good with your meal plan, we will look at being able to add a sport back in. So, I had to interject. She hasn’t eaten breakfast for weeks and hasn’t completed dinner since she stepped down. So, I unfortunately being the mean mom I am I don’t consider that “really good” regarding her meal plan. She asked her about her motivation to recover. She’s currently a 0 on a 1-10 scale. She can’t wait to get out of treatment to lose weight. She wants to weigh 50 pounds. The dietician asked her when the last time was, she probably weighed 50 pounds. She said when I was little, like preschool. Can you I understand why 50 pounds wouldn’t be realistic or healthy for you now. No. I would be just fine at 50 pounds. She wants to eat 0 calories. And no one can force her to get better. Overall, it was a great meeting. No, honestly, I liked the dietician, I think she did a good job questioning Carrigan and working with her. She understands we’ve been in a higher level of care for almost a year straight. She didn’t get scared off. And she understands my fear of a new outpatient team immediately recommending residential, again, and that we want to keep her home. At least for a while.
