Biggest Buy in Yet

First let me say, I’m still working on residential admissions.  They are taking forever to get everything back and forth though.  I don’t feel like we had this hard of a time before.  That said, since she’s been home from the hospital she’s been “eating”.  She’s picking, and it’s definitely “diet” food, but she’s eating, and more than she previously had at home.  She doesn’t want to go back to residential and definitely does not want to go to Avalon Hills with no visitation.  She knows I’m still working on residential and knows that she has to continue to eat and engage with her therapist and dietician.  That is what I told her.  So, we got home Tuesday, she ate the rest of that day, which never happens.  Friday, we went to see her therapist and dietician.  The therapist was first.  She would not talk, she wouldn’t look up from her phone, I ended up kicking her out of the session and I spoke to her dietician for the rest of the time.  While we were back in the waiting room between appointments, I told her she really wasn’t leaving me any choice other than to send her back to residential.  She was mad.  We went into the dietician next and what do you know, she talked.  She started off not wanting to talk and very mad, but she eventually participated and we got the biggest buy in yet.  She’s going to continue eating what she’s been eating.  I will buy her the “special” food and she has to eat it all without cutting any of it out.  Even if she thinks she’s gaining weight.  She has to eat it.  Until our next appointment next Friday.  We will weigh her each week to make sure she’s maintaining.  She gets to see her weight so no one can lie to her.  Then if she’s lost weight we have to readjust.  Fast forward to Wednesday and to the best of my knowledge she’s still eating the same foods.  She’s a master hider, so I wouldn’t bet anything of value on that fact, but I do think she’s eating.  I know her distress is high as she knows she’s gaining tons of weight.  I personally think she’s lost weight, but the scale will tell the truth on Friday.  So here’s hoping that if she is down it’s not too much and she’s willing to increase calorie intake to maintain.  Otherwise back to residential we will go.
