Or maybe a should title this my 13-year-old wants to live in a house alone. The paranoia in our house has reached all-time high levels. Not only are we adding butter and oil to food, sealed food at that, but we are also adding butter and oil to her napkins and cups. And it’s wafting through the air when the rest of the family eats and gets in her food a room away. Or onto her dishes left out in the kitchen. She sets up her phone to video anyone coming and going into the garage. She wakes up at all hours of the night paranoid, she hears someone doing something to her food. It’s frustrating (and that isn’t even a strong enough word) to me as the parent, but her sisters are 100% over it. They do not enjoy being constantly questioned and watched by their sister. And I will say I don’t really blame them. I wouldn’t enjoy it either. She wants a refrigerator for her room. I emailed her team to get their thoughts as I don’t want to make it worse, but I also know it won’t help anything. She will worry about something else, but maybe I can take some focus off her sisters, who will be home next week as school is out for spring break. The team agreed it was pretty much damned if you do, damned if you don’t, but they didn’t see any harm in trying. So, we ordered a mini fridge for her room I’m going to go pick up today. We were supposed to go to Petland today to pet on some animals. But she can’t do that. She’s gained too much weight. She did tell me last night in a state of total anxiety that she just wants to live alone. I told her that was impossible. She actually asked why. Ummm, because you are 13. Well, I could just live in my own house in the backyard. This is really what she wants. So, she knows no one is messing with anything. But she still won’t relax. I’m certain of that. I’ve thought a lot of why she just does this at home. Then it hit me, she did this in residential and php too. She always questioned if what they gave her to eat was correct, it wasn’t what was on her meal plan, it wasn’t what they had picked out, etc. She fought with staff over almost every meal as well.
