Special Snowflake

Yesterday I got to meet with her dietician and therapist both.  For almost an hour.  It was nice.  One of the things we talked about was her dietician’s special snowflake theory.   These kids understand the concepts and can apply them to other people, but they don’t apply to them.  They are special snowflakes.  Like my daughter doesn’t need food or water.  She can go months without either.  But she wouldn’t let you go without.  She wouldn’t let our cats or dogs go without.  But she’s a special snowflake.  She’s different.  Her body is different.  They did a body dysmorphia project because the body dysmorphia is high.  She said she got it.  But her dietician could tell she got it, but she knew she was different.  It didn’t apply to her.  She’s a special snowflake.   It’s funny though because I feel like this can apply to a lot of different things.   When you feel like you can’t handle something, or you just can’t do it.  Remember other people can.  You’re really not a special snowflake and you can do it too.  I don’t know why, but I do think it helps!
