Covid

Monday she started running a fever.  Tuesday she felt awful.  Tuesday evening she tested positive for Covid.  So she’s now isolated in her room until Sunday.  She says it’s the worst she’s even felt and the most pain she’s ever been in.  Everything hurts.  They are keeping her fever down and pain in check by alternating Tylenol and ibuprofen around the clock.  But unfortunately this is hitting her hard.  I know her immune system is crap.  She’s been in a mask since spring of 2020.  Covid originally, then eating disorder.  So she hasn’t been exposed to anything in so long.  Add on that all the punishment she’s put her body through in the last 2.5 years I know this has to be hurting it.  I’m hoping her labs on Monday will be stable.  They have her in her room isolated participating via zoom with spotty internet.  She’s eating meals and snacks alone over zoom.  I hope she’s eating.  I hope this doesn’t set us back too much.  Her biggest complaint today is her throat.  She says it hurts worse than it’s ever hurt before, and she used to get strep frequently so she’s had her share of sore throats.  I can’t go visit her this weekend.  She can’t participate on the outing.  Her spirits are ok.  I talked to her yesterday for quite a bit after they got the phone situation figured out for her.  So that was nice and I think a good distraction for her.  Between covid and lice it’s been quite an adventure in the last week.  I’m ready for things to go back to normal and we only have to worry about anorexia.  Not all this added stuff!!
