She started working. At Walmart. And she is enjoying it. A lot! She’s working around 30 hours a week, which seems like so much, but considering she doesn’t do anything else I guess it really isn’t awful. She’s been working for just over 2 weeks now. We went to the doctor Monday and I was nervous. Was she doing too much. Was she still eating as much as she needs. What would the doctor say? But she got an all clear. Her weight was up a little bit. Her heart rate was up a little bit. Her blood pressure was down, but just a little bit. So her doctor told her she could keep working. We are trying to get her to agree to taking a multivitamin to try to help with her bones. I don’t think we’ll be successful, but we thought we would have better luck with that then increasing her intake. Start small, right?! She’s working with a group of other teenagers. She likes them. I also think she enjoys having a group of people that don’t know anything about her history. They only know her now. She hasn’t interacted with similar aged peers since she was 11. Other than her times in residential/php but that doesn’t much count as I would much rather having her interact with people w/out eds. So we’ll see how long it lasts but hopefully this gives her a reason to keep on eating and to get out of the house and to do things!!
