To Move or Not to Move

I was watching a video yesterday, about anorexia, because what else would I be doing.  They were talking about new thoughts around exercise/movement and letting kids move earlier than originally thought.  Movement can be good for your mental health and help decrease anxiety.  I understand this.  We’ve been very hesitant to let her move because it turns into compulsive movement very quickly.  Anyway, after watching this video I thought about a new strategy, if she completes dinner, she could go for a 20-minute walk with either her dad or me.  I talked to her dad, he was on board to give it a try.   So, I told her.  I was hoping for a positive reaction as I was going to allow movement.   Wrong!  That would definitely not be worth it.  I am not eating dinner just to go for a walk.  Maybe if I could go for a run.  But I’m not eating dinner today anyway, I already ate too much today.  So there goes that idea.
