Moving On and Moving Out

My daughter wants to move out.  She thinks the OCD will get better if she’s far away from everyone and knows that no one can do anything to her or her things.  I think it’s another accommodation we would be making like everything we’ve done in the past.  I think it will work well for a week or two.  Maybe a month or two.  And then it won’t matter.  But at the same time, I’m also kind of willing to give it a try.  I mean what can it hurt.  My therapist sees my side.  If we got just a short term rental.   I was thinking even something furnished.  We wouldn’t really be out anything.  Just the monthly rent.  If it doesn’t work, fine we move her home.  If it does work, great, maybe she can continue moving forward with life.  I talked to her doctor about it.  At first, she was totally against it.  But then as I explained more and things I was thinking she came around to the idea.  She did mention she would like to see her more medically stable before we move forward.  She looked back at her chart to where her heart rate and blood pressure were more stable.  Then looked at the weight at those places and thought she needs to gain about 2.6 pounds to make her feel better and not be riding right on the edge.  So I told my daughter this.  Absolutely not.  She is not gaining weight.  She does not need to gain weight to move out.  That will just make her move out and lose weight.  And on and on and on.  So we’re currently stalemated.  It’s a hard place to be.  Then my daughter went back to the doctor today.  And she’s back down in weight again and vitals and physical exam.  I just wish we could get some freaking buffer room.  Some space so I would feel like we’re not just riding the hospitalization line.  Some room so we don’t have to go back to the doctor every 2 weeks.  It’s just frustrating to say the least.  But we’ll continue.  And we’ll keep on talking about moving out and what that looks like moving forward.
